Holbrook Leisure Centre, Gosport
Client Details:
DC Leisure
Architect:
Roberts Limbrick Limited
Project Description:
VZDV has been employed by DC Leisure who won a bid to design, operate and maintain a new leisure centre. The new centre will replace an existing facility on the same site and consist of a 25m pool, a learner pool with movable floor, 4-court sports hall, fitness suite, studios and associated changing facilities.
As DC Leisure will be operating the facility for a 25 year period the energy strategy plays a key role in minimising energy costs. A combined heat and power unit will be the primary source of heating and electricity to the building. Other energy efficient measures include the use of natural light and ventilation, low energy light fittings throughout the building, lighting controls, heat recovery and variable speed drives on pumps and fans.
The site will also accommodate a pub and 60-bed hotel for which VZDV has procured the infrastructure.
