Project Description:


Planning approval has been granted for the change of use and redevelopment of 25 Harley Street to a new state of the art medical practice. The building is Grade II listed originally built in 1756 and comprises lower ground, ground and four upper storeys with a modern courtyard and mews. The project entailed a feasibility study, planning application and detailed design of a new medical facility of the highest standard fully equipped with state of the art medical technology building on the global reputation of Harley Street as a centre of medical excellence. Planning permission was granted on 12 May 2015 and VZDV were responsible for the detailed design of the mechanical and electrical services for the project. The accommodation included two theatres, consulting rooms and a series of ancillary accommodation (minor operations, offices, changing etc). Medical services included MRI scanner, X rays and medical gases. VZDV undertook the detailed design of the mechanical, electrical and public health services to Stage 4 and HTM standards. This included low carbon and energy efficient technologies, air source heat pumps, LED lighting, interfacing with medical services and meeting the stringent acoustic criteria required by planning.
