London Fields Lido Hackney

Project Description:

London Fields Lido was constructed during the 1930’s at the height of lidos’ popularity in the UK. It remained in use until the 1960’s after which it fell into total disrepair. In 2004 London Borough Hackney decided to refurbish the lido. The majority of the derelict buildings were repaired and the pool was not only restored to its former glory, but updated to standards current at the time. The fact that the pool is heated means it is one of a handful of facilities that can boast year round swimming in open air.
