NegEarth Park Royal

Project Description:

Planning permission has recently been grated for a new bespoke building Park Royal London for  developing, assembling and testing of specialist audio visual equipment and accommodating leading entertainment artists worldwide. The existing buildings were recently destroyed by fire and the new development replaces and extends the current building footprint. Ancillary spaces include office, storage, conference, meeting and catering areas.

VZDV were appointed by NegEarth for the design of the mechanical and electrical services. VZDV undertook a renewable and low carbon feasibility study to determine the most appropriate technology to meet the Client and planning requirements. In terms of services the unique building dimensions (25m high!) and the high intermittent service loads culminated in a service strategy with wet based under floor heating/cooling from a roof mounted heat pump / chiller, natural ventilation with supplementary extract for high loads, standby generators for intermittent peak electrical loads.  The services to ancillary areas were a combination of energy efficient technologies, exposed services and state of the art technology to compliment the use and aesthetics of the building.
